democracy in the U.S. or other countries. Think back to our previous discussion of
legitimacy, too; it’s really relevant here!
? Relate this talk to Sen’s discussion of democracy as a universal value. How do they
differ? Where are they in agreement? It may help to imagine they were in discussion
with one another, and how that discussion might go.
